About This Dish

Doctors and dietitians say we should eat sourdough bread every day because it has tons of probiotics, which is key to our gut health and digestion, promote immune system, and prevent blood sugar level from spiking. Even if you can buy sourdough bread from stores, you may not get all the health benefits that you do get from sourdough. Because stores have to mass-produce bread, many cut down the fermentation process, which is so crucial for probiotics, healthy bacteria. This is another reason why you should make your own sourdough bread.

Sourdough bread sounds intimidating, but it is one of the oldest recipes humans have been using, and all the ingredients you need are flour, water, and salt! That’s it! You don’t even need to worry about kneading in this recipe. This video shows how to prepare dough and bake it with or without a cast iron and Dutch oven. All you need are your interest and commitment for healthy eating!

Tips:

  • When you want to make bread, feed the starter first thing in the morning, so that you have enough time for levain and dough lifting and folding.

  •         The video will explain all the technical terms, don’t worry. Just watch and learn!
